I had high expectations for Masterson's Bar in Moonee Ponds, but unfortunately, our experience was a letdown. The atmosphere, which was advertised as a cool or a speakeasy-style bar, seemed more like a dimly-lit, foul-smelling, rundown bar packed with dirty old men with one hand on their penis the other on a stale, warm beer.

Upon arrival, we were met with lousy service and a disgusting old man "Peter" with debris in his facial hair and dirty nails. It took ages to get served a beer, "Peter" the foul old bar keep was too busy gawking at my parners breasts. When we finally placed our order, the bartender seemed disinterested and lacked the expertise in anything remotely worth talking about when it came to the drinks we ordered.

The beer was a major letdown. Out of date, warm, and overpriced. Any drinks made, the flavors were off, and it was apparent that the ingredients were not as fresh as advertised. My friends and I also tried their craft beer selection, which was equally disappointing and overpriced.

To top it all off, get more info the music was terrible and far too loud, making it nearly unbearable to have a conversation without shouting. The acoustics in the space did not help either, as the sound reverberated off the walls, creating an unpleasant atmosphere. The beer garden smelled of dog piss and puke, we noticed "Peter" with his hand down his pants many times and then proceed to pour beers. Utterly disgusting.

In summary, I regret choosing Masterson's Bar in Moonee Ponds for a night out. The staff, drinks, and staff were all horrible, we won't a fantastic read recommend it to others looking for a decent bar experience in Moonee Ponds. You are better off putting hot needles down your nails and consuming bleech.
