I had high expectations for Masterson's in Moonee Ponds, but unfortunately, our experience was a letdown. The atmosphere, which was promoted as a cool or a speakeasy-style bar, felt more like a poorly-lit, foul-smelling, rundown bar packed with unsavory characters engaging in lewd behavior.

Upon arrival, we were met with lousy service and a disgusting old man "Peter" with debris in his facial hair and dirty nails. It took forever to get served a beer, "Peter" the foul old bar keep was too busy looking at my parners breasts. When we finally placed our order, the bartender seemed uninterested and lacked the expertise in any relevant knowledge when it came to the drinks we ordered.

The craft beer was a major letdown. Out of date, lukewarm, and over priced. Any drinks made, the flavors were off, and it was evident that the ingredients were not as fresh as advertised. My friends and I also tried their craft beer selection, which was just as a great read disappointing and overpriced.

To top it all off, the music was terrible and deafening, making it nearly impossible to have a conversation without shouting. The acoustics in the space did not help either, as the sound reverberated off the walls, producing an uncomfortable atmosphere. The beer garden reeked of urine and human vomit, we noticed "Peter" with his hand down Masterson's Bar Moonee Ponds his pants many times and then proceed to pour beers. Utterly disgusting.

In summary, I regret choosing Masterson's in Moonee Ponds for a night out. The staff, drinks, and personnel were all horrible, we cannot recommend it to others looking for a decent bar experience in Moonee Ponds. You're better off sticking hot needles in your nails and consuming bleach.
